Diary

After work today, I went to a farewell party for my French friend. She is a former classmate of mine. I went to the restaurant first time, and I don't know why, but the menu cover was written in hiragana, but the inside was in Chinese and English. Also, the menu was a mixture of Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Taiwanese dishes. It was interesting because the way East Asia is understood is so sketchy. By the way, I wasn't convinced that large groups automatically get only one bill which already including 18% tip, even though the waiters paid little attention to us and we didn't have enough chairs. I know that is common in Toronto, but still, the tipping system horrible.

Back on topic, at the farewell party I got to see some of my classmates for the first time in a long time, and the conversation was so funny that I laughed so hard my stomach hurts. But I'm going to miss them very much as all my former classmates will be going back in a few weeks.

A Japanese boy, who was on the same way home and also a former classmate, told me that he was thinking of going back Japan because he have been feeling very homesick lately. He has been in Canada half a year, but he said he felt homesick because many of his friends went back to their countries and he graduated the school. I wonder if I will be homesick after a few month too.
