When I got on the bus to go to work in the morning, all of a sudden stranger said, ‘你好, 你好’ When I turned my head to look at her, she asked me a question in Chinese. I answered "I can't understand Chinese" and she said “Oh sorry” and went away. Yesterday, I was mistaken for a Korean too. I wonder if I don't look Japanese.
Today I worked in an Indian home. I cleaned the house properly last time, so I finished the job in about two and a half hours today. Afterwards, I went to lunch with him. At first we wanted to go to Japanese BBQ, but it was Valentine's Day and Friday, so it was very crowded and we gave up. We had Chinese food instead. He paid for everything and when I said I would pay some too, he laughed and said it was a Japanese trait to try to pay like that. And then, he also gave me a cheesecake from Uncle Tetsuo. What a kind man!
I then moved on to my second job. During the move, the TTC stopped and a passenger punched the door saying, ‘While you stop and make money, I'm losing money🤬’. Then the TTC went the other way and I thought I was definitely going to be late for my next job, but somehow I made it on time.
By the way, I think I underestimated Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day dinner was really really really busy. There were endless guests and it was full all the time. I tried to serve them with a smile and no mistakes, but I was so busy that I turned the sushi pizza, greasy and slippery, over on the table. Luckily, they were a customer I'd had a few times and when I apologized them, they give me the consoling words ‘Don't apologize, you're doing a great job.’ And, It was so busy that the owner offered me an extra hour's pay. Even though there were two waiters, we each got over 70$ in tips, which shows how busy we were.
