Today I woke up in the morning feeling depressed, but I received a message asking me to come to work an hour earlier than the time I received the day before yesterday. I went to work and talked with the owner and it turned out that it was apparently a discommunication. I thought ‘for the time being’ meant ‘for the time being (until there is some change of plans etc.)’, 当分の間. However, she thought it meant ‘for the time being (just this one time)’, とりあえず. My mother tongue is Japanese and hers is Korean, and we have two different phrases with different nuances in each of our language, but if you translate them into English, they both become "for the time being".
