〈2024-12-18〉Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba🦁

I went to watch the musical of Lion King! I was quite unsure about going it or not because I had actually seen it in Japan and the ticket was more expensive than in Japan. However, I decided to go because I like The Lion King, I like characters based on Scar, and most of all I was interested in an English musical!

If I bought the ticket through the language school, it cost 80$ (and also my friend told me that it was the last seat in the balcony). However, I bought it myself from the official website, so it cost 60$ and I could sit in the front part of the balcony, closer to the middle. Nice choice, me in the past!

The play was amazing. My memory is not clear, but I think the distance between the audience and the stage is further than in Japan. I couldn't see actor's faces. I felt that the actors' voices came out from their bellies and resonated more than in Japan. From the moment I heard Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba at the beginning, I was crying, and after that I couldn't stop crying because I was emotionally involved with Scar. I was also crying from the nostalgia of seeing the conductor live after a long time. Even though it was the first half of the story. In Canadian musicals, everyone laughed during the funny scenes, and there was clapping and whistling at the scenes changing. In Japan, it is normal to watch quietly, so it was interesting. However, there were some local English jokes and the English was normally difficult, so I could only understand about 60% of the lines. 

I was glad I came to watch. Honesty, I would love to see the film Mufasa, but it would be difficult to watch it in English.
