〈2024-11-02〉GOOD BYE

Today I woke up a little late and gave my housemate a souvenir gift and a letter. She was delighted and took a picture of it and put it on her Instagram story. I wondered between maple syrup, a hand mirror, cookies, and a Canadian flag badge for the souvenir, but I'm glad I chose the badge and maple syrup. When I first met her, we saw the flag badge on the escalator that the person in front of us was wearing on her bag and talked how cute it was.

Her last meal in Canada was nothing but a croissant with cheese and Nutella and tomato penne. Was that really all that was needed? But in a way, it might have been appropriate for the last meal. We talked about many things until 2:30 when the car came to pick her up, and said we would miss each other. After the car arrived, the house was quiet. 

My first friend from the other side of the world was assertive, talkative, and sometimes irritating, but she is the best friend, kind, funny, and friendly. I'll have to visit Brazil someday and be surprised with the subway yellow line.

I ended up being able to rent the big bedroom she used, but I was more than happy if I had a friend a little smaller than me than a big bed.
