I got a good news today!!! My lovely student who was taught by me about 1 years ago graduated today and passed the entrance exam of the Japanese high school!!! I really worried about her because she said she might be not able to go Japanese high school.
She is from Mongol and she stayed only 2 years in Japan at that time. She can speak really good daily Japanese, but she couldn't understand class Japanese well. So I taught her some homework. But for nonnative like her, it's really hard to understand and pass the exam. We sometimes discuss how she will do after junior high school. She honestly wanted to go to Japanese high school, but we understood it's so hard. And I couldn't teach her till end because I came here, Canada.
That's why the news that she graduated and will be a high school student made me really happy!! Congratulations!!!! Enjoy three years in a high school!!!

I got some great news today!!! One of my lovely students, whom I taught about a year ago, graduated today and passed the entrance exam for a Japanese high school!!! I had been really worried about her because she said she might not be able to go to high school in Japan.
She’s from Mongolia and had only been in Japan for two years at that time. She spoke daily Japanese really well, but she couldn’t fully understand the academic Japanese used in class. So I helped her with some of her homework. For a non-native speaker like her, it’s really hard to understand and pass the exams. We sometimes talked about what she would do after junior high school. She honestly wanted to go to a Japanese high school, but we knew it would be very difficult. And also, I couldn’t keep teaching her until the end because I moved to Canada.
That’s why hearing that she graduated and will be a high school student made me so happy!!! Congratulations!!! I hope you enjoy your three years in high school!!!
