I had my first taste of white tuna at today's staff meal. In Japan, it is called “Baramutsu” or “Abrasomutsu”. I ate it with some trepidation because I had heard that Japanese and some Asians are unable to digest it and that oil would come out of their butts if they ate too much. It was only a few slices, so it was no problem for me. But it didn't taste particularly good.
By the way, I looked it up and found out that not only Asians but all mankind can't digest it. Eh? Then why are they eating this fish?
Check and Correct
I tried white tuna for the first time at today’s staff meal. In Japan, they call it “Baramutsu” or “Abrasomutsu.” I ate it with some trepidation because I’d heard that some people — especially in Japan and other parts of Asia —can’t digest it properly. If they eat too much, oil can literally leak out of their bodies. I only had a few slices, so I was fine. But honestly, it didn’t taste that great.
By the way, I looked it up and found out that it’s not just Asians — no one can actually digest it. So… why are people even eating this fish?
