Diary

Today I hung out with a Peruvian friend for the first time in a long time. We both hate getting up early, so we got together in the evening and went to watch a film first.

It's called "Sonic The Hedgehog 3". My friend is a Sonic fan. What a surprise, the film focused in Tokyo! It was interesting to see Japanese words in the film, and the Shibuya that foreigners imagine. But I couldn't understand about 80% of what was going on. It's true that I didn't understand everything because there were English speaking and no subtitles and I didn't know anything about Sonic. However, the story was even more outlandish than that reasons. Everything in Toronto is more expensive than in Japan, but watching movies seem to be cheaper than in Japan. I really want to go see "Mufasa: The Lion King" and "Wicked", but I don't think I'll be able to understand them because of my English. And there are so many films I want to watch in Japan too...

After that, we went to the Christmas market, aka Winter Village. I went there once before with a Korean friend. Last time we couldn't see the illumination at night, so today we went at night. Neither me nor my friend had eaten anything since the morning, so we had dinner there, but it was expensive and small. It's a festival, I know I know😿

It was pretty cold so we enjoyed it for about an hour and then moved on to Union Station. I was still hungry so I was going to have a MacDonald, but to my surprise I found a Shake Shack! I found out about it on the Internet as a popular burger place in New York, but when I knew they had in Toronto too, I took it off my plans! Since I was there, I tried it. It's good👍 The buns are like real ”bread”. The meat is juicy too. But actually, I may prefer McDonald's haha. I learnt "the McDonaldization of society," which mean becoming the uniformity of many things in society like MacDonald, in university and thought ‘hmmm🙄’ at that time. But sometimes uniformity is the best haha.
