Today I went to Chinatown with my classmates, a Taiwanese, a French, a Korean and two Japanese, to eat hot pot. A Taiwanese girl introduced us to a restaurant, fudao noodle house.
The restaurant was quite crowded, but luckily we were able to sit down right away. We ordered one lunch set each for two, which allowed us to freely combine hotpot soup, a side dish and a drink. My Korean friend and I like spicy food, so we ordered spicy hot pot soup and takoyaki. The owner of the restaurant was very kind and gave us two drinks instead of originally one. The hot pot was really tasty. I also tasted the tomato hot pot soup that two other people ordered, and it was very tasty. We can have a free refile of the noodle that come with the set and take home, so I was full for lunch and dinner. The lunch set was only 16$, I means it was about 9$ per person including tip when divided between two people. Cheap!
When we were eating, we all had a lot of fun talking about our local things. When we told them about bears in the streets of Hokkaido and rocket launchers falling in the streets of Fukuoka, they were confused.
